The brand is inspired by the enjoyment of a good glass of wine with lunch or dinner, as cherished by Caymus co-founder Charlie Wagner Sr.. His namesake and grandson, Charlie Wagner, is now continuing the family tradition with the introduction of Bonanza Chardonnay Lot 1.

The Winemaker

Charlie Wagner, the owner and winemaker for Mer Soleil wines, has been producing Chardonnay for more than 25 years. He caught the winemaking bug in high school and embarked on a never-ending fascination with finding great vineyard sites throughout California. As Charlie Wagner states, "We see limitless potential to make a fun, delicious Chardonnay. I love working with this varietal because it can be made in a range of different styles.".
