History
Cream of Kentucky 13 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey dates back to 1888, when it was first established and quickly gained a reputation for quality. Prior to the end of Prohibition, the brand was acquired by the Schenley Company, which played a crucial role in its revival. The bourbon was re-introduced in 1934 and soon flourished throughout the 1930s and 1940s, becoming one of the leading bourbon brands of its time. Notably, renowned artist Norman Rockwell contributed much of the award-winning artwork that defined the brand during its heyday. Today, Cream of Kentucky is owned by J.W. Rutledge, a former Master Distiller at Four Roses. The current iteration of Cream of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is a sourced whiskey, representing the first re-introduction of this historic brand, with plans for the J.W. Rutledge distillery to open in 2019, signaling a new chapter in its storied legacy.
