Organic Thyme - Loose Leaf Botanical

Thymus vulgaris (Garden Thyme) is a member of the mint family. Thyme was originally grown in the Southern Mediterranean but can now be found in herb gardens across the world. The herb has been used since ancient times for its fragrant aroma and medicinal and therapeutic properties. Thyme has commonly been used as a skin poultice and salve. 

Thyme has many active compounds that may boost its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Thymol, found in thyme oil, has been heavily studied and highlighted for its potential anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antioxidative effects.* Thyme is an excellent addition for all culinary lovers, the earthy, spicy and citrusy flavor pairs well with many meats, sauces, pastas and marinades. Thyme can be brewed as a fragrant and healthy tea or tinctured in alcohol.
