Supporting the “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” campaign, a breast cancer awareness and fundraising effort within the rodeo and western community, by donating 100% of its profits from the sale of Purple Cowboy wines to the campaign. Founded in 2004 by Purple Cowboy founder and breast cancer survivor Terry Wheatley.

The story, as told by brand founder Terry Wheatley, goes that during the early days of California's "Cowboy Wine Country" in Paso Robles, a group of men would work in the vineyards during the week and compete in rodeos on the weekends. Because of the deeply colored, robust red wines they tasted, their teeth were permanently stained purple. They became known as the "Band of the Purple Cowboys
