• Blend of rum and whiskey produced by Rolling Fork Spirits in Starlight, Indiana • 85% rum blend and 15% whiskey • Column and pot still single blended rum distilled from molasses by Foursquare Distillery in Barbados; tropically aged 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels • Pot still rum distilled from molasses by an undisclosed distillery in Jamaica; tropically aged 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels • Column-distilled rum distilled from molasses by an undisclosed distillery in the Dominican Republic; tropically aged 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels • Whiskey column distilled by MGP in Indiana; 95% rye and 5% malted barley mash bill; aged 6 years in ex-bourbon casks • Blended and rested for 3 days in stainless steel; aged an additional 20 months in ex-wheated bourbon casks in Starlight, IN • Aromas of black licorice, burnt orange peel, and plantain; the palate delivers red apple skin, young papaya, and white pepper; salinic finish with grilled peach and a touch of sourdough • Non-chill filtered; bottled at cask strength of 55.95% ABV (ABV may vary batch to batch) Rolling Fork’s Fortuitous Union was initially born of an accident which saw aged rum unintentionally vatted with rye whiskey. They have since spent years intentionally crafting a novel blend of Caribbean rum and Indiana rye for this second release. Finished for 20 months in ex-wheated bourbon casks, the additional barreling provides soft Kentucky whiskey influence, allowing the complexities of the rum blend to shine.
